The car is being sold for my son, he writes:
Good Points:
The R5 Monaco’s features include: powerful low mileage (71k) 1.7 Ltr engine, power steering, electric tint windows, central locking, manual 5-speed gearbox. Original top speed 130 mph. Stereo radio cassette player. Electric sunroof, passenger reading light, rear seatbelts, good condition alloys & tyres.
Bodywork in excellent condition throughout, any inspection welcome.
New battery, alarm, plus impact alarm, all leather beige upholstery, including steering wheel, in superb nick.
The car is perfect for anyone wanting a good example of a R5. I Purchased it as a project car, but never started, bought a pimped-up honda instead and saved the effort. See my other ads for all the bolt on bits you would need if you’re interested in modifying an R5.
Before I got my new car, I was using the car daily for work, round trip 40 miles per day. It is a reliable, economical and quick car.
The car is MOT’d until August 2007. It is currently SORN’d & garaged.
Minor Issues:
The only faults I have noticed with the car are a flickery battery light, (either a loose wire or faulty alternator diode pack) and, the brake pad wear indicator light is illuminated on the dash, (still plenty of wear left in the pads, could be resolved by changing the pads, well before they need changing in my view, or disconnect the wire and monitor the pads visually)
Don’t be put off by my location, it’s not that far up country really, and for someone looking for a really good example of a R5 Monaco, it’s worth the trip. It has spent much of it’s life garaged and used only for the weekend shopping run and it shows.
Any questions, thru ebay please and I’ll do my best to answer them quickly.
The car is advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to remove the car from sale at any time.
