Here's a car which is now a rare sight. It's a Mk1 Renault 5, these are now in the top 10 of rarest everyday cars in the UK as stated in Auto Express recently who did a survey on disappearing cars.
This particular Renault 5 is the TL model which was known for its brilliant fuel economy espeacialy thanks to its fifth gear. This is also one of the last mk1s as its a 1984 - the mk2 arrived later that year. The car is probably one of the most solid non turbo R5s left. It's all solid and original and never been welded nor does it need any either. Underneath its how it left the factory and still carries its original paint under there too. This is the same of the inner wheelarches which also have the original paint and gloss as you can see in the photos.
The car has done 39,000 miles from new which I believe to be genuine, and it runs smoothly and starts first time, it also has the benefit of a fuel cat which means it can be run on unleaded petrol. The engine bay itself is very clean and tidy too and the paintwork in there also shines. It drives, stops and changes through gears as you would expect and has that typical French feel espeacialy with the soft suspension and cornering.
The car really is smart as most became rusty or very tatty quickly. With a small amount of work this would be a great car. It does have a few niggles: there are some small white marks on the bonnet, I suspect bird poo has eaten in slightly, ingition lock had jammed so previous owner bypassed it with a toggle switch and starter button. Front headlamp has a crack at the bottom, small dent on lower front wing see pic, also the sun has gotten to the rear seat top but this has been temp covered with cream cloth and the belt has worn the driver's seat edge.
Dont let these cosmetics put you off I have contact details of places these can be bought at cheap prices so it wouldnt take much money or effort. The car also comes with new style V5 . 8 old tax discs, bills and original Haynes manual.

Just to add the car has tax till the end of the month and mot only untli the 14th July but apart from maybe the headlamp re MOT should be no problem
