I bought this car for its engine - to replace the one in A517 SGO, which had needed its head gasket replacing three times in 10,000 miles...
I was towed about 8 miles through country lanes by my mother in her Granada Scorpio - the old fashioned way - me braking for her, and getting cross/scared if she went over 20mph! The brakes on this car were absolutely rubbish - I mean, really, really bad. They faded very quickly too, and I found at one stage I had no brakes at all!
Unfortunately, after fitting the engine, its head gasket was found to be faulty too! We ended up having the engine professionally rebuilt, rather than go through the pain ourselves.
Last on the road in 2001 according to the DVLA.
