Welcome to R5Gordini.co.uk! This is the latest incarnation of one of the longest-established and largest Renault 5 websites. It was originally incepted in 1995, as a single page. It has grown now, to a massive resource, with a Forum, a Photo Gallery (which contains over 2,100 photos), and now a Wiki, complete with a Register of Cars and other useful information. Whilst the site was originally intended to cater for the Mk I Renault 5 1972-85 (and it specialises in the Gordini and Gordini Turbo), it will now start to branch out to include the Turbo 1 and 2 and variants, and the Mk II (Super) 5 1985-96.
This site is a resource for all Renault 5 owners, enthusiasts and fans. It is a large collection of photos, articles and information regarding one of Renault's most successful cars. On these pages you will find: Free Classified Adverts, a Forum, a Renault 5 Price Guide, a Wiki (where you can look up useful Renault 5 information, and add your own), and pages showing general information, the history of my own Renault 5s, friends' cars, and other Renault 5s. Why the early Renault 5? My first car was/is a Renault 5 - I inherited it from my grandfather when I was just 15 - you can't drive until you're 17 in England! So it has sentimental value for me. Also I grew to appreciate the 5's strengths. My grandfather had two R5 Autos before he got the one that I have now and I will confess that I thought they were rattly, smelly and rusty as well as unreliable! So. I was presented with a Renault 5 Le Car 2 as my first car. Actually it was definitely the best one my grandfather had owned. Low mileage and in pristine condition, I soon grew to love it.
