This is a rare one from my French collection, thats up for sale for the simple, and same reason, I always give...too many cars and no time to enjoy them...so its time for another of my clearouts!
I love mark 1 5's and this TX is such a fantastic spec as there based on the performance TS with added luxury:
1400cc engine
special TX only colour
factory alloys
electric windows in the front
leather steering wheel and gear stick
tinted glass
Hi back sports seats
extra sound insulation and plush carpets
fully trimed boot
5 speed box
best of all power steering...this makes the car so chuckable and superb fun.
There is lots of history to support the car and confirm the extra low miles, including the original bill of sale from 1983...how does £5222 sound... makes you realise just how much cheaper in real terms cars are now.
It was on display at the World series Renault Sport do at Donninton last year and was much admired and even got pictured in a French performance car magazine.
The car has just had a new clutch at a cost of £300 and there are bills for a full service within recent times.
It runs and drives well, there is a flat spot which sometimes can be felt under acceleration and the starter does not engage first time, most times.
I have never put many miles on the car and as with all old timers would advise a check over before pressing it into regular use.
The body is all original, with its factory paint. there are several dings down both sides and a bad dent to the rear corner as shown in the pics. Its very solid having had a small amount of welding to one sill and to the flooor before.
I like what I call straight original cars, I never buy stuff thats been messed around with...this has its faults but falls firmly into that nice, clean, straight category.
Inside is the same story, sound, but grubby and needing a little care around the edges. the seats and carpets are all good but the headlining has dropped.
Tyres are good and the alloys sound but need refinishing.
So in sumary, a lovely sound rare TX, use it and love it OR drop the engine in a Renault 4 as I was going to do at first until I saw just how nice it is.
The photos are taken outside my works industrial unit which is in LE3, and is where the car is kept tucked up nice and warm and dry.
You all know the score, but my last sale was messed up by a -2 bidder...So do what I do, bid with common sense and honesty...This discription is my opinion and by not viewing you are accepting it as yours...
